Redstone Law Firm is excited to announce that Zach Schmidt recently joined the firm as an associate attorney.  Zach’s law practice is focused in the areas of commercial litigation, trust and estate litigation, and business law.

Zach’s practice areas are well suited for the finance professional turned attorney.  Upon graduating summa cum laude with a degree in finance from St. Cloud State University, Zach analyzed derivative securities at a Minneapolis based investment company and later worked at Great Western Bank (NKA First Interstate Bank) as a credit analyst and business banker.

After over five years in the financial industry, Zach pursued a law degree at the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law.  While in law school, Zach won the Sam Masten Moot Court competition, proudly represented USD at national moot court competitions, and was named to the Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization that recognizes students who excel in oral advocacy and brief writing.  After graduating from law school, Zach had the honor of clerking for Justice Mark E. Salter of the South Dakota Supreme Court.  During his clerkship, Zach was provided profoundly valuable mentorship as he collaborated alongside Justice Salter, performing legal analysis and assisting with opinion drafting.

"I am excited to work hard alongside the excellent attorneys and staff at Redstone and pursue optimal results for our clients", said Zach.

Zach may be reached at 605.444.2815 or zach@redstonelawfirm.com.  He will be based in the Sioux Falls Redstone office.
