On July 11, 2017, the Redstone Team continued to “make it better” by volunteering at The Banquet in downtown Sioux Falls.

The Banquet provides a welcoming place where people in our community may gather, receive nourishment, and experience love in action. Guests of The Banquet come from all walks of life. In 2016, 196,000 meals were served to the community, and 26,000 of those meals were served to children under the age of 12.

The Redstone Team volunteered in a variety of ways, including welcoming the guests, handing out meal tokens, serving food and beverages, washing dishes, cleaning up, and most importantly, interacting and visiting with the guests. 263 guests received meals on July 11.

“My favorite part was when we got to sit down to eat and converse with the guests,” said Kim Nesheim, a Redstone Team member who greatly enjoyed participating in the event. “The look on their faces showed that they really appreciated us being there helping out.”

Another Redstone Team member, Sarah Ouellette, said the experience was a lot of fun and that she was proud to be a part of the Redstone Team and Redstone’s commitment to making it better. “Serving at The Banquet is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in the downtown area, and it was a privilege to help provide a meal for individuals and families in our local community.”
